Apparently we’ve been doing Tinder wrong the whole time.
There’s one simple change we can make to our profiles which will increase our chances of getting matches – how we dress in our photos.
Mashable conducted a study that revealed men mostly wear basic, neutral colours in their Tinder photos – with 72 per cent of men and 56.2 per cent of women rocking neutral colours like black, white and grey on their profile.
Sociologists have decreed that bright clothing which makes you stand out is the way forward if you want to increase your match count.
Dr. Jessica Carbino, a sociologist for Tinder, told Mashable:
A profile photo provides an important glimpse into an individual’s personality.
Individuals are choosing to signal certain elements of their personality through their clothing choices, such as a decision to wear shorts and a t-shirt versus a suit and tie.
“While the type of clothing an individual wears is not directly associated with being liked or not, clothing is one factor in creating the portrait of who a person is,” Dr Carbino added.
Looks like it’s time to whip out that bright orange t-shirt and get some fresh photos!
