It was one of the biggest rumours heading into Coachella this weekend and last night Ice Cube made every hip hop fan’s dreams come true when he reunited N.W.A on stage for an incredible performance.
As reported by Pitchfork, the rapper-come-actor’s set on the main stage featured a bunch of classic songs from his illustrious career and various guest stars, but it was the appearance of MC Ren and DJ Yella to accompany Ice Cube in fiery renditions of Straight Outta Compton and Fuck Tha Police which stole the show.
Unfortunately, Dr Dre didn’t come along for the ride but it was still a pretty badass ‘history lesson on Ice Cube and N.W.A’ as far as we’re concerned!
And, judging by the raucous response from the crowd, we’re pretty sure they loved it too. What a massive moment.

As if that wasn’t enough, Snoop Dogg and Common also made appearances during Ice Cube’s set, and the 46-year-old was later joined by his son O’Shea Jackson Jr. – who played his dad in the critically acclaimed N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton last year.
It seems yesterday was all about the special guests, as Angus Young also joined the reunited Guns N’ Roses on stage during their headline set, following on from the somewhat bizarre news that Axl Rose will be fronting AC/DC on their current world tour.
Kesha also made a surprise appearance and joined Zedd onstage to perform his track True Colours.
To be honest, we’re pretty jealous of everyone out in California right now. It sounds like Coachella is definitely the place to be!
