Never one to shy away from controversy, Kanye West has already got himself embroiled in a row following the launch of his new album.
His new track Famous, includes the line: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.”
The ‘Taylor’ in question is Taylor Swift and the line refers to the 2009 Grammy awards, when West invaded the stage during her acceptance speech saying:
Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time.
The incident prompted President Barack Obama to call West a ‘jackass’.
According to the Guardian, following the playback of The Life of Pablo in New York, Swift’s spokesperson issued a statement saying West had asked Swift to share Famous on her Twitter account.
The statement said:
She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.
Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous’.
His lyrics drew angry responses from Gigi Hadid, Ruby Rose, Jamie King and a number of Swift’s other friends:
My attendance somewhere does not mean I agree with everything being said in the music playing there. My friends know of my loyalty.

Too many lines crossed. If I put myself in the shoes of the women he has hurt recently. Victims of Bill Cosby, The Slut shaming, Amber…

I'm so sad right now & disappointed right now. I stand by my sister. Always.

So, Kanye thinks he made Taylor famous because of what exactly? Interrupting her while she was winning an award? OK, that makes sense…

Swift’s brother Austin posted a video on Instagram of him throwing his Yeezy trainers into the bin, with the caption, ‘Getting a head start on some spring cleaning. Here we go again.’
And angry fans have questioned West’s claims that he made her famous in furious posts on social media.

Pretty sure Taylor Swift was already famous before Kanye West decided to publicly embarrass her for daring to win an award.

More than 20 million viewers watched his album launch and fashion show, which came after West had spent a week teasing fans about his album title and causing controversy with a Twitter rant where he claimed Bill Cosby is innocent.
Just another ridiculous week in the life of Mr Kanye West…
