Rita Ora has made a shocking revelation that she was sexually active with a 26-year-old man when she was only 14.
The ‘How We Do’ singer opened up about the shocking experience during an interview with Lifetime TV, reluctantly conceding to the interviewer that although she didn’t think so at the time, her first sexual activity was abuse.
Ora, a former Kosovan refugee, says in the interview:
I was fourteen when I started, when I got my first relationship with a guy.
I would say (he was) about 26, and you have to remember I hadn’t had a relationship before then at all.
I was very new to the whole world of a man and a female.”
Ora went on to add:
I felt like I was sexy, I felt like I had a form of respect, I felt like he listened to me.
Now I know he listened to me because he obviously wanted to have sex with me. I felt good that men fancied me.”
It has to be said that the X-factor judge was not following in her show’s footsteps and creating a sob story to gain support from viewers, she is really pushed by the interviewer before saying “It’s child abuse, really, isn’t it?”.
Ora also made the following comment which reveals a depressing fact that many young people will face up to in years to come; they are growing up too fast.
I don’t want people to think that I was forced to do it. I don’t want people to think I was abused as a kid but I was definitely more mature than I should have been at 14.”
Although she has gone on to bigger and better things the same may not be true for the countless other young girls who will go through the same experience.
