Arsenal are ready to demand a £600,000 compensation pay-out from the FA after Jack Wilshere picked up an injury whilst on international duty with England.

Wilshere was ruled out for six weeks yesterday after breaking his foot during the Three Lions’ clash with Denmark, following a collision with Liverpool’s Daniel Agger.

But while the Arsenal star admitted he decided to carry on after the challenge, the Gunners are still reportedly chasing compensation.

According to the Sun, Arsenal want the top level £600,000 for the injury, which could effectively end Wilshere’s season early if he does not respond to treatment as expected.

The FA does pay compensation for injuries picked up on international duty involving the England teams, but the complexities of this case mean the money is not guaranteed.

The news comes just hours after it emerged that Arsenal fans have launched a petition against Liverpool defender Agger for his tackle on Wilshere.
