If Arsenal fans want anything this summer, it’s a new centre forward.
You don’t have to scour the Arsenal fan’s natural habitat, Twitter, to find criticism of Olivier Giroud, as Gunners fans regularly write off the Frenchman.
They want a big name, and after the Euros, the biggest name out there is Antoine Griezmann.
The Atletico Madrid striker bagged the top scorer award at the championships, scoring six goals as France made the final, but came up short against Portugal.
Interest in Griezmann is at an all-time high, and Wenger is a known admirer of the 25-year-old.
So imagine the scenes when Arsenal fans spotted this picture doing the rounds on the internet last night:

No one knows what the pair said to each other, but Arsenal fans are dreaming of Griezmann leading their line next season.
And they took to Twitter to urge their club to sign the striker:

Dear @Arsenal can you please sign Griezmann and swap OlivierGiroud for him!

Arsenal should break the bank for Griezmann. Might even make me grow to love Giroud given how well they play together. #afc

Excitement levels around north London have hit their peak, despite the conversation probably going something like:
Wenger: ‘Good luck in the final, Antoine’
But in Arsenal fans’ minds, that’s enough to put them at the front of the queue to sign one of the world’s leading forwards.
Even Piers Morgan wants to see it. And on that basis, we hope it doesn’t happen.
