Atletico Madrid want Fernando Torres back, but they won’t pay Chelsea the £13m they’re asking for.
According to reports in Spain, Atletico are keen on seeing Torres return to the Vicente Calderon – his home before joining Liverpool in 2007.
But the Spanish champions aren’t yet willing to meet Chelsea’s asking price of just £13m – a ridiculous £37m less than the Blues paid for him in 2011.
Chelsea and Atletico have already done business this summer, with Mourinho bringing both Diego Costa and Filipe Luis to the Bridge.
But the chosen one is also thought to be eyeing a hat trick deal for defender Joao Miranda, although Atletico are determined to hold out for the buy-out clause in his contract, which is just short of £24m.
I guarantee, if Torres goes back to Atletico, he absolutely smashes it next season.
