I love getting out in the sunshine on my bike. I’ve got a lovely little racer that I regularly fall off.
Never at great speed, may I add. Nope. I fall off usually when I’m at a standstill. I am terrible for forgetting that my feet are attached to the thing, and when I come to a stop at traffic lights or something, I go to put my foot down… Without unclipping it first. Schoolboy error. And one I never seem to learn from at all.
Just as well I don’t race competitively then, really, because they have a lot more hazardous places to stop or go really slowly. Like in front of a train.
The Paris-Roubaix got a bit weird and dangerous when the barriers started to come down on the train crossing… Just as the peloton was beginning to cross.
Police tried to stop riders from crossing, but some badass rebels went anyway, getting hit by barriers, and almost an oncoming train in the process.
This is DEFINITELY the point where I would have fallen off.
