If there’s one story that tops almost all others from Euro 2016, it’s Iceland’s incredible tournament.
From their epic chanting to their excellent football, the Nordic nation have won thousands of fans from across the globe, and now there’s another reason to love them.
Their newly elected president, Gudni Th. Jóhannesson, refused his seat in the VIP area of the Stade de France, as he wanted to go and sit with the Icelandic fans in the cheap seats.

The whole story makes Iceland even more lovable, even though their European adventure ended in a 5-2 defeat to France.
Can you imagine David Cameron doing something similar? He can’t even decide which club team he supports, so he’d probably turn up in a Wales kit singing Bread of Heaven.
Sales of Iceland kits have gone through the roof during the Euros, and they’ll forever hold a place in public hearts after their excellent showing at Euro 2016.
