Twitter is sometimes a fucking disgusting place.
It’s a platform for keyboard warriors, who use their 140 character limit to abuse celebrities and athletes with sickening insults, before deactivating their accounts in an attempt to cover their tracks.
Jamie Vardy has burst onto the world scene in the past 12 months, going from fighting relegation with Leicester City, to being a certainty for England’s Euro 2016 squad this summer.
Unfortunately, that makes him a target for vile abuse.
Vardy’s fiancee Rebekah Nicholson tweeted a picture of their daughter Sofia at the weekend – pretty standard stuff:
— Rebekah Vardy (@RebekahVardy) April 3, 2016
But the responses were absolutely sickening.
WARNING: Proceed with caution, because these tweets are disgusting:
Many of the awful comments have now been deleted and authorities will undoubtedly have been informed.
Why do people think that they can get away with things like this because they’re on the internet?
