Poor old Max Kruse has not had a good week.
The Wolfsburg striker has today been dropped from the German national team for the upcoming friendlies with England and Italy, after the worst birthday week ever.
Reports surfaced last week revealing that he’d left £60,000 in poker winnings in the back of a taxi in October, before German paper Bild today revealed that he’d been seen arguing with a woman at his birthday party.
Kruse reportedly objected to his photo being taken and grabbed the phone off the woman, before deleting the picture.
The woman turned out to be a news reporter from Bild.
And now, Germany boss Joachim Low has dropped him from the national squad.
Speaking about the 28-year-old, Low said:
Last week I talked with Max about what I expect from players on and off the pitch. His actions in the last weeks were unprofessional.
We need players who are focused on football and also understand their role as role models.
What an utterly shit week.
