In some pretty sad news from the boxing world, Nick Blackwell has announced his retirement from the sport.
The 25-year-old suffered serious head injuries in last months controversial British middleweight title fight in Wembley against Chris Eubank Jr.
Despite the fact he appears to be hanging up his gloves of good, the former champion suggests he will stay involved in the sport in some capacity.
He also said he holds no grudge towards Eubank Jr., who won the fight by the way of knockout in the 10th round.

Blackwell was placed in an induced coma after suffering a bleed on his skull, and not on his brain as initially feared, and was brought back into consciousness a week later.
He has since posted a message to thank people for their support:
Just want too say a massive thank you for all the support and messages means the world too me I'm on the mend now so I've been very lucky.

Eubank Jr. soon responded:

Blackwell then confirmed that he will not be stepping back into the ring, after a fan asked him on Twitter:
