This season’s first El Clásico will take place at The Bernabeu on the 26th of October, and could be one of the best games of all time.
Luis Suarez will be available for the clash, which will feature the likes of Leo Messi, Neymar, Gareth Bale, Ronaldo, James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos, and Benzema.
Here’s a look at how both teams will most likely line up in October.
Real Madrid (4-2-3-1)
Carvajal ,Ramos, Pepe, Coentrao
Bale, Rodríguez, Ronaldo
Madrid look phenomenal up front, the sheer pace and power of Ronaldo and Bale is enough to tear any defence apart. Add to that the passing range and technical capabilities of Modric and Kroos, the raw talent of Rodriguez, and the top drawer finishing of Benzema and you have what looks like the strongest attacking unit on the planet.
Defensively though, Madrid don’t look outstanding. There’s always a chance that the Spanish outfit will leak silly goals with Pepe and Ramos at the heart of defence. If Ancelotti does decide to go ahead with this team selection then Madrid will miss the presence a natural defensive midfielder to help out the back four.
Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Alba
It will be quite fascinating to see how Rakitic gets on for Barcelona this season, he is more of a direct, no nonsense player than a tiki-taka specialist. It is possible that his signing could indicate that Barca may be looking to re-think the philosophy that had served them so well under Guardiola. They may look to counter more often, in order to take advantage of the pace of Suarez and Neymar up front.
Suarez should have a good season, it will be easier for him to score goals in Spain if he is played in position. However, Messi rules the Barcelona dressing room, so Suarez will have to face the fact that he is no longer the most important player in the team.
Both teams look outstanding! Who’ll come out on top? I think Madrid will win it, and will go on to win the league this season, so much quality in the team!
