In an interview with L’Equipe Thierry Henry said that he would want to return to Arsenal as a coach and help them win the Champions League.
Although it’s important to say that nothing is confirmed, Henry merely said that he would love to go back. The former Arsenal striker is coming to the end of his time in Major League Soccer and is expected to leave the New York Red Bulls at the end of this year.
In the interview Henry said:
“I have not taken any decision and speculation is not my thing. One thing is certain: I will stay in football, as a coach, a consultant or executive. We will see.
“The second certainty is that I would love to see Arsenal win the Champions League. Whether that is from near or far does not depend on me but it is sure I’d like to help. This is my club and, as a player, I was not able to give them the Champions League.”
Arsene Wenger has said before that Henry “has all the qualities” to be a coach.
The former Arsenal captain who left the team in 2007 for Barcelona scored 228 goals for the Gunners in the 8 years that he was part of the team.
