The football world is crawling with them.
This weekend, many of football’s biggest cunts came out of the woodwork to rear their ugly heads, and remind us that the beautiful game isn’t always rosy.
Be it Christian Benteke falling to the floor like he’d been snipered, Alan Pardew accusing a reporter of trying to antagonise him, or Juan Mata getting the first red card of his career, there’s always plenty of competition for this accolade.
But, there can only be one winner and this week it’s none other than:
There were plenty of stupid red cards this weekend, but Coquelin tops the lot.
With his team 1-0 up in the most important North London derby ever, Coquelin needed to be careful.
Careful, he was not.
As Kane advanced down the left wing – posing no real danger to Arsenal’s goal – the young Frenchman showed all his inexperience by diving in and cracking the England man with a poor tackle.
The groans of Arsene Wenger were drowned out by the laughter of White Hart Lane, and Tottenham Hotspur went on to lead 2-1 within seven minutes of Coquelin’s dismissal.
Alexis Sanchez struck a late equaliser to salvage a draw for Arsenal, and ensure that the result took some of the attention away from Coquelin’s red card.
