Leicester City’s season is the fairytale to end all fairytales.
You’ve heard the story countless times, about a loveable Italian manager transforming a club that narrowly avoided relegation last season, into the most unlikely Premier League winners in history.
The story will be recounted as long as football exists, and it’s bound to inspire hope amongst thousands of teams from all levels of football who lacked belief.
Leicester’s success couldn’t have came at a better time for England. The Three Lions head into Euro 2016 with a new breed of talent, hoping to build on the Foxes’ unlikely success in France in just under a month.
The likes of Dele Alli, Jamie Vardy and Eric Dier have no fear after their incredible seasons, and could all be key players in Roy Hodgson’s squad from June 10th.
Vardy, along with Leicester team mate Danny Drinkwater, knows all too well what it’s like to come through adversity when no one expects anything from you, having been released from Sheffield Wednesday aged 16, before battling his way through non-league football, going on to become a Premier League winner.
And it’s that type of belief that England need this summer.
There are other major contenders that will take some stopping, but with a fearless approach and a talented young squad, this nation may ride the quest of the wave to European glory in France.
