Finally there’s a way to get rid of the crappy default apps that come pre-installed on an iPhone.
iPhone users have been asking Apple to let them delete unused default apps for a while now but the tech giant refused to budge, leaving our home screens cluttered with shitty useless apps.
To get round this a lot of people set up a folder of ‘useless apps’, like the compass. Apologies if you’re an Arctic explorer who gets a lot of use out of your iPhone compass, but why the fuck would you need a compass if you have a default map app?
However, TechRadar have reported that there’s a trick which shows you how to get rid of the default apps from your iPhone home screen.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t get rid of the apps forever. Instead, it just hides them, which means that if you search them you can still find them – just in case you need your compass.
The cool tip comes from YouTube user Videosdebarraquito who shows the technique in the video below.
To do the trick, you need to drag all the apps you want to delete into one folder and then hold down on the app again so it begins wiggling and you can move it.
From there, you need to drag the app over to the next page in the folder and then to another page after that.
Don’t let go of the app, instead tap the home button and then you’ll delete the app icon. We’re not sure if you’ll be able to reinstall these apps without doing a system reboot so only get rid of the apps if you’re sure you’ll never need them.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a compass app to remove…
