I’m sure we’ve all dished out a lot of CV’s in our time, and I’m sure we’ve all had our fair share of ignored CV’s too – but how do you manage to really grab the attention of that employer you’re trying to impress?
Well one 25-year-old fro Lithuania thinks he has the answer, and it’s easier than you think, according to Metro.
Lukas Yla left his hometown in search of the American dream in San Francisco, something he has dreamed of since he was just five-years-old.
But how does this marketing specialist make sure he always gets an interview? He dresses up as a food delivery man and delivers donuts with his CV attached.
Dressed as a ‘Postmate’ delivery man (a service similar to Deliveroo) Lukas drops off his delicious donuts accompanied by this message:
He told Metro:
I was looking for the most direct way to reach decision makers at the companies. I thought that I might fail competing only on “resume” level with other candidates that have work experience in San Francisco.
So, as a marketing specialist, I performed SWOT analysis of myself, my competition, my target audience and crafted this job-hunting campaign.
The best thing is, it works. Since he started going to different employers and dishing out his delicious CV’s, Lukas has had ten interviews and is currently in the process of landing a job with a number of companies.
With this tasty technique everyone’s a winner. Lukas potentially gets a job, the employers get free donuts. Win win.
