Back in September 2013, 10.3 million of us tuned in to watch the series finale of Breaking Bad in the U.S. alone.

Personally, when Breaking Bad came to an end, I was left disillusioned. Nothing I watched seemed to be anywhere near as good. Nothing was as gripping, as terrifying, as brilliant. And I imagine I’m not alone on that.

To me, the series ended perfectly – but if I could see Walt and Jesse back at it again, I’d jump at the opportunity.

Well according to Konbini, that opportunity may soon be on the horizon, with Bryan Cranston claiming that if he was asked by the creator of Breaking Bad, and its critically acclaimed spin-off show, Vince Gilligan, to be in prequel series Better Call Saul, he ‘would say yes before he could finish asking me’.

The announcement was made following the premier of his latest film, Trumbo, when Cranston said in a Skype interview:

I would like to be part of [Better Call Saul]. Vince Gilligan and Breaking Bad changed my life. They presented me with opportunities I wouldn’t have had otherwise. I am very grateful for that. So yes, if Vince Gilligan called me today and told me: ‘I want you to be in Better Call Saul’, I would say yes before he could finish asking me!

It hasn’t happened yet though. We’ll just have to see how things go. I love this series. And I’m really lucky with how great it all went for me.

I beg Vince Gilligan not to spoil Better Call Saul for me!

Trumbo is the biopic in which Cranston plays Dalton Trumbo, the screenwriter most famous for being the man behind Spartacus, who worked in Hollywood in the 40s and 50s but paid dearly for his Communist relations.

Cranston added, explaining his obsession with the spin-off show:

I really like Better Call Saul. It’s an atmosphere I know well: the city of Albuquerque, its suburb, the people there. It’s something I’m very familiar with, but at the same time the story is very different. It’s no longer Walter White who’s the main focus, but Jimmy McGill. So I watch the show with a new perspective.

When I meet Vince Gilligan, I beg him not to tell me anything! I want to experience the series as a true fan and not as an ‘insider’. I like it that way.

Just last week, Aaron Paul said that he’s excited about potentially being involved in Better Call Saul, so it seems like something might actually be in the works.

Personally, I’m praying that this goes ahead. To see Walt and Jesse back on my TV would be the perfect dose of nostalgia!
