In yet more bad news for the stricken show, Matt LeBlanc has admitted he is unsure if he will return for the next series of Top Gear.

The former Friends star has thrown the future of the programme into more doubt during an appearance at an event in Los Angeles, reports The Independent.

During a panel for his new CBS sitcom Man with a Plan at the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour LeBlanc admitted he’s ‘not sure what’s happening with Top Gear just yet’.

He added that the sitcom was very much his ‘priority’ at the moment saying:

I don’t know [if I will return]. I’d like to. There’s nothing officially happening just yet – call the BBC.

LeBlanc was part of a brand new presenting line-up alongside Chris Evans when the Top Gear reboot was launched back in May, however the show was hit by poor viewing figures eventually leading to Evans’ resignation.

And if LeBlanc doesn’t return it could mean more bad news for the struggling show as the 49-year-old actor was considered by many to be the best thing about it.

LeBlanc’s sitcom, Man with a Plan, sees him play a building contractor who becomes more involved in raising his children after his wife goes back to work.

According to the Huffington Post, the show is shooting right next door to The Odd Couple, starring LeBlanc’s former Friends co-star Matthew Perry.

“I saw him yesterday,” LeBlanc said at the panel. “I love that guy.”

So do we Matt, so do we.
