Visitors of the 1 World Trade Center observation deck will soon get a nice surprise, as they’ll be treated to an incredible timelapse video that takes them through the ages.

Superimposed on the walls of the elevator that takes them to the top, the timelapse scene will reveal a breathtaking look at NYC from the 1500’s to present day – and it does not disappoint.

The 47-second video will show the city’s skyline that lies in front of it, from the bare beginnings in the 1500’s to the stacked, modern and shiny 21st century.

The observation deck of the tower stands 1,268 feet tall, which currently makes it the second highest observatory in the U.S., second to the the Willis Tower in Chicago, which sits at 1,354 feet.

And I will definitely be visiting, and experiencing this, when I return this year. Cannot wait.
