A brave 10-year-old boy has been hailed as a hero after pulling two children from a burning mobile home in Oakland, Florida.
Isiah Francis reportedly ran into the blaze at the Lake John’s Motel Efficiency home and grabbed the two kids under his arms and guided them to safety outside.
Speaking to ABC News, Francis said:
I had to go in there with the fire to grab the kids while the dad kept running in there with water trying to put (the fire) out. I was nervous because there was so much smoke. It was hard for me to see and all that.
The young lad said he first spotted the fire while playing games at a friend’s house nearby.
Francis saved two of the kids but didn’t realise there were two more children still inside the home. Thankfully, firefighters arrived in time to rescue them.
Orange County fire officials were told the fire started on a stove in the home.
Francis hopes to be a firefighter when he’s older and, with quick thinking and bravery like this, we’d say he’s off to a pretty good start!
