Basejumper Alexander Polli, known for his death-defying stunts, is reported to have been killed after crashing into a tree during a jump in France.
His death comes just days after extreme sports fanatic Uli Emanuele died while filming a base jump for GoPro.
According to French media reports, Polli died in the Brevent-Chamonix area of the Alps in front of his teammates.
The 31-year-old Italian-Norwegian is believed to have crashed headfirst into the tree at 5,000ft shortly before 11am yesterday morning.
Polli was a top figure in basejumping, becoming the first jumper to successfully hit a target in 2012. He also featured on Red Bull’s website after becoming the first to jump from a helicopter through ‘The Batman Cave’ – a hole in the side of the Roca Foradada mountains in Montserrat, Spain – at 155mph.
The high-speed hole shot has since garnered over 13 million views on YouTube.
His Twitter profile states:
Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose to live with no regret.
Our thoughts go out to Alexander’s family and friends at this sad time.
