Viewers of BBC Breakfast got a little more than they bargained for this morning after a clip of a rower wearing no underwear was mistakenly broadcast.

The all-female Yorkshire Rows team were on the show to discuss their bid to cross the Atlantic in record breaking time.

Unfortunately in an action shot that left nothing to the imagination 45-year-old Helen Butters’ pubes made their way into the live broadcast.

Although it was on air for just a mere few seconds it was more than enough time for viewers to grab a screenshot…

According to the Daily Mail the slip was not noticed by any of the rowers, although they did apparently tell hosts that being naked was an option.

Janette Bennadi said:

It was so wet all the time – to wear clothes all the time was a bit silly really because they’d just get wet and they’d take a long time to dry so it was easier (to be naked).

Butters ironically added:

I was the last one to embrace my nakedness.

A BBC spokesperson said of the incident:

We quickly realised our error and edited the clip so it wasn’t broadcast again later in the programme. We apologise to our guest and our viewers for the mistake.

I’m sure Butters and the rest of the team can take comfort from the fact they did set a Guinness World Record as the oldest all-female crew to cross an ocean, reaching English Harbour, Antigua, from La Gomera in the Canary Islands on February 25 in 67 days and five hours.

Great effort ladies.
