They say you should think before you speak – and think before you tweet in the modern age – and that could not be more apt than for a group of people who made it very clear how they felt about the homeless.
After the Humans for Humans charity recorded footage of homeless people reading out tweets sent in about themselves and others like them, it made the stigma surrounding people without homes very clear.
Cheryl, one of the participants who has been homeless for seven years, spoke about her situation and claimed:
My mother, she’s a write off. She wants nothing to do with me because of what happened between me and my father.
But she stood back and allowed it to happen. She could have stopped it.
Once you watch the video, you will not only be horrified at some of the comments, which range from wondering if homeless people are heartless to moaning about them getting on the bus when they’re cold, but it becomes quite evident how hurtful the people reading the comments find them.
