In this day and age, it’s quite obvious that pretty much anyone on the front of any magazine has been retouched in some way, shape or form.
The following video shows exactly that in all of its glory. Directed by Elizabeth Moss of Rare Digital Art NYC, a company that specializes in photoshop retouching, the video shows six hours of professional retouching in time-lapse form.
And it turns out that retouching usually approaches pretty much everything from skin imperfections, to hair, to lip colour and even lip shape. And I won’t forget to mention face shape and bone structure.
So when you’re looking at the front page of a magazine and notice the perfect, beautiful model on the front of it, try not to forget the countless hours of digital forgery that her face and body went through before reaching a publishable standard.
