A late night shopping trip to a Tesco Extra in east London turned violent when a mass brawl broke out between three men and a woman.
A shocking video posted on Twitter over the weekend shows the group engaged in a tense stand off in the store in Woolwich before punches started being thrown.
Amidst the chaos, several unsuspecting shoppers were knocked down as a security guard desperately tried to defuse the situation.
However, the guard was powerless to stop the brawl in which the woman is clearly punched in the face, and an umbrella and a bottle of squash appear to be used as weapons. In the horrific footage, the woman can later be heard screaming hysterically as staff and witnesses are unable to bring an end to the scrap.
The Met Police confirmed they were called to the Tesco Extra on Love Lane in Woolwich, east London, at around 1.25am in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A spokesman said officers spoke to a number of people but no arrests were made as no offences were disclosed or alleged, but enquiries are thought to be ongoing.
Speaking to the Mirror, A Tesco spokesman said:
Our colleagues called the police as soon as they were aware of the incident. They are now working with the police to help with their investigations.
