Three female activists from Mexico City have found a novel way to deal with street harassment.
The group is called Hijas de Violencia (Daughters of Violence), and they are fighting against inappropriate behaviour in public using confetti guns and punk rock.
If they happen to see women disrespected by men they will grab their guns and loudspeakers, shoot a load of confetti and glitter in the creep’s face, before singing their punk anthem ‘Sexista Punk’.

According to Konbini the lyrics to the song go ‘What you’ve done to me is called harassment. If you do this to me in any way, I will respond.’
Speaking to Al Jazeera Plus the women revealed that their unorthodox response to harassment is a means of letting someone know they are out of line, but also allows the incident not to ruin their day.
We recommend that you have fun with it so that you’re not left feeling violated from what happened, and you’re able to move on and still have a great day.
We certainly don’t think we’re going to change the world, but we sure know that we’ve changed ours.
Fair play to these women, they certainly are raising awareness by tackling the issue head on.
