Three of the surviving members of arguably the most prolific rap group in history reunited on stage last night for the first time in 26 years.
At the BET Experience in Los Angeles, Ice Cube, DJ Yella and MC Ren stomped the stage for the first time in a LONG time and performed some of their most classic tracks. Fans were treated to ‘Chin Check’, ‘8 Ball’, ‘Straight Outta Compton’ and for the ever-controversial ‘Fuck Tha Police’, an LAPD cruiser was driven onto the stage by Cube, followed by an appearance by Snoop Dogg. Sadly, Dr. Dre couldn’t make it.
The trio then paid tribute to late member Eazy-E, referencing his tracks “Cruising Down the Street in My 64” and “Foe tha Love of $”. Sadly, the night wasn’t topped off with a Dr. Dre performance, but what they provided was good enough for the crowd, who lapped it up.
