A Catholic priest has been caught on film snorting cocaine in a room full of Nazi memorabilia.
In footage released by The Sun, Father Stephen Crossan can be seen drinking with a friend who then offers him ‘a good wee’ line of coke.
The 37-year-old practically leaps out of his chair at the prospect, before muttering ‘I shouldn’t’ and stuffing the note up his nose.
The Sun reports that the Crossan and friends arrived at his house at 11am after being asked to leave another party, and stayed at his home on St Patrick’s Church grounds, Banbridge, for seven hours.
A source is reported as saying:
Stephen said he was a social worker but told us the truth when we realised he lived on church grounds. He’d been drinking beers and Jack Daniels as well as taking coke.
The house was lovely but we were stunned to see the Nazi stuff. It was all over the house. At one point Stephen put on a cap and did the Nazi salute.
It’s shocking. He’s supposed to be an upstanding member of society. He shouldn’t be taking drugs.
Crossan has since defended himself by arguing the clip was shot while he was on sick leave with depression.
It was just the one night and that was it. I do not have an issue with drugs.
I’m no Nazi. I collect historical stuff. There’s stuff there from every country.
Crossan has reportedly left the church, but has received support from the parish.
