First #piggate and now this!
As if there hadn’t been enough grim alleged acts done to dead animals this week, a shocking new video shows the disturbing moment a fox hunt steward simulated sex with a dead goose.
The footage was captured by anti-hunting campaigners after the Atherstone Hunt in Ibstock, Leicestershire on Saturday, and the horrifying acts seen in the video have sparked a police investigation.
The footage shows a boy taunting demonstrators with a dead Canada Goose, swinging it around by the neck, pretending to make it talk, and then simulating sex with the dead animal.
Speaking to the Mirror Online, a spokesperson for the campaign group West Midlands Hunt Saboteurs, said:
It was completely shocking but the behaviour does not surprise me. A member of the hunt was there but did nothing about it and actually thought it was funny. I thought it was disgraceful behaviour towards the dead animal. I was just gobsmacked and later reported it to the police. We think the video speaks for itself as to the mentality of the Atherstone Hunt.
The Atherstone Hunt has since described the footage as “appalling” and said the boy in the video is not a member of the hunt, despite the fact he can be seen wearing a Hunt Stewards hoodie and the other stewards in the video can be seen and heard laughing loudly at his actions.
In a statement, the Atherton Hunt said:
The Atherstone Hunt would like to make it clear that they are sickened and disgusted by the appalling behaviour of an individual with a dead bird at a meet of the hunt at Ibstock on Saturday 19th September 2015. The individual concerned is not an employee or member of the hunt and has been informed by the hunt that he is not welcome to attend any hunt events in the future.
We reckon this horrible individual won’t be laughing so much when the police pay him a visit!
