The ‘Lingerie Fighting Championships’ is actually a real thing.

The Lingerie Fighting Championships (LFC) actually exists, and is selling out shows across the pond.

I don’t really need to describe it, the name is pretty much self-explanatory. It’s women in lingerie. Fighting.

It’s been accused of ‘setting back women’s MMA by 20 years’ by some, after women have finally been accepted into the UFC and women like Ronda Rousey boosting the perception of women in the sport massively.

It was created by a Las Vegas model called Roni Taylor.

She said:

Look, most women in MMA are ugly. I’m sorry, but it’s true. Our fighters look like ring girls and they fight in lingerie and I don’t see anything wrong with that.

Hmm. I can see why it’s ruffling a few feathers when it’s owner says that.

That aside, I can also see why it’s popular, and all 20 of the shows to date have sold out.

It’s like the UFC, crossed with WWE Divas. In theory, I quite like it. Hot women, scrapping… On paper it sounds great. I like that they actually know MMA and fight properly too, it’s not like softcore porn catfighting or anything. Although, I do wonder quite what Ronda Rousey thinks of it all.

I’m not ashamed to say, if they put on a show in the UK… I’d definitely be interested in checking it out!
