Hoverboards are usually only seen in Sci-Fi movies but now one lad has built his own and it works so well that he’s even used it to set a new Guinness World Record.
Catalin Alexandru Duru of Canada built the impressive piece of kit and then hopped on and casually set the record for farthest journey by hoverboard.
The one-of-a-kind hoverboard is similar to an aerial drone, using downward-facing propellers to offset the rider’s weight and allow them to float like a boss.
Duru set the new record on his unique travel device on (and above) Quebec’s Lake Ouareau.
He travelled an incredible 275.9 metres in the air before touching down in the water.
Considering Duru only needed to travel a mere 50 metres to take the title, he absolutely smashed this one!
