If you’re going to fight for a living then you have to be prepared to get hurt, but I doubt any members of the UFC anticipate this kind of injury.

UFC 196 has effectively seen its main event destroyed by injuries, with both title challenger Cain Velasquez and UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum withdrawing from the card.

Speaking to MMA H.E.A.T with injuries on the brain, Josh Barnett revealed the worst he has ever fought with. And it’s certainly eye-watering, to say the least.

He said:

Bent penis. Yep. It was the worst injury but it did give me a new, creative angle on life.

Oh dear Lord.

Barnett, who has offered to step in and fight Stipe Miocic, added:

I had stressed out rotator cuffs and a torn labrum [shoulder cartilage] and I went in and fought Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ and my arm came out. There you go.

I’ve walked into the ring with many injuries, most of them psychological. We’re supposed to be swimming in a sea of tough guys but sometimes you’re going to get things that not everybody understands.

Sadly, injuries are a major occupational hazard for anyone within the fight game, as this rather brutal video shows.
