The UK’s least respected newspaper is pulling out all the stops when it comes to the now-notorious Adam Johnson child sex case.
Yesterday, the former Sunderland and England winger was convicted of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl, and while every other publication took the standard approach this morning, The Sun decided to be the controversial, edgy bastards that they are.
Enter their front page, which is currently gracing news stands across the country…
Alongside a photo of the disgraced ex-footballer in his questionable swimwear (sorry, I’m a shorts man), if you look closely, aligned to the left, you can just about make out the simple four-word sentence of ‘PAEDO IN HIS SPEEDOS’. Wow.
The chosen photo is reportedly a nine-year-old snap of Johnson doing a fitness test in his underwear, and if you hadn’t already guessed, the Twittersphere is up in arms.
I won't sully anyone's timeline with it but tomorrow's Sun #AdamJohnson front page so utterly wretched you'll want to wash if you touch it.

Yes, the sun have used a 9 year old picture of Adam Johnson in speedos for their utterly irrelevant headline. 9, not 7. Trash.

Did the sun just go 'right speedo rhymes with paedo I want everyone on the case searching for a pic of Adam Johnson in speedos' ingenious🙄

The Sun have been in their archives for that Adam Johnson photo. Ridiculous reporting.

But if you thought the shots being fired stopped at the front page, you’re very wrong. Their 5-page special report features pages like the following.
Incredible reporting as always. Rupert Murdoch would be proud!
What do you think of their coverage? Did they go too far, or is it justified given the circumstances? Let us know.
