A cunning dog pretended to be a stray in order to get her paws on some free burgers from McDonald’s.

We’re all used to our own dogs begging us for food around the dinner table, but presumably after having no luck in that area, a dog in America came up with another way to get some treats.

Betsy Reyes, from Oklahoma City, has explained how her dog, Princess, slips out of her house at night to go and hang around a near McDonald’s branch.

Without her owner, Princess appears to McDonald’s customers to be a hungry stray dog, using those puppy-dog eyes to persuade kindly strangers into giving her burgers.

Check out the scheming dog at work:

Betsy shared the hilarious story of her sneaky dog on Facebook, writing:

If you see my dog @ the McDonald’s on shields, quit feeding her fat ass bc she don’t know how to act & be leaving the house all the time to go walking to McDonald’s at night. [sic]

She’s not even a stray dog. She’s just a gold diggin ass b*tch that be acting like she’s a stray so people will feel bad for her & feed her burgers. [sic]

Realising what was going on, Betsy decided to catch her dog in the act and drove to the McDonald’s store earlier this week to reclaim her ‘stray’ dog, CBS report.

She found Princess there and filmed her patiently waiting for someone to offer her a burger. She’d found a willing McDonald’s customer and sat by their car as the woman tore off some of her food to throw to the hungry dog.

Princess spotted her owner watching as she hustled the unknowing customer and came over to happily greet her as if she hadn’t been off finding snacks and love elsewhere:

Princess didn’t look too ashamed at her actions though, she might have just been pretending to be innocent to see if she could get away with it?

Betsy’s post was shared over 272, 000 times, with thousands of people expressing their delight and amusement at the burger-loving dog.

One person commented:

I am CRACKING UP… and when she gets busted it’s like a two year old getting busted in the cookie jar AHAHAHAHA [sic]

Another dog-lover wrote:

Lmao she grown asf don’t care what her mama got to say [sic]

A third added:

Lmfaooo on god it’s her life and she gone live the way she wants to live [sic]

I’m quite impressed with the amount of planning which surely must have gone in to Princess’ scheme. She’s obviously figured out a way to escape from the house, memorised the route to McDonald’s – or followed the smell of the burgers – and nailed the look of ‘stray dog’.

I’m pretty glad she got rewarded with the food before she got caught. I think she deserved it.

Amazing work Princess!
