This is Lana the Labrador and on May 20 she will be put down due to overcrowding at her kennel – but you can stop it.
Lana was rejected by her owners back in 2015 and when she was returned to her kennel a photo of her looking depressed went viral – breaking the hearts of millions.
And this tale of woe gets even sadder – as Lana was adopted for a second time after she found Internet fame but just months later her second owners brought her straight back to the kennels, reports the Daily Mail.
Apparently when Lana was returned she was completely unresponsive for over a day and refused to go on walks or even move because she was so sad.
Dahlia Ayoub, of Mighty Mutts, said: ‘It was almost like her whole world had shut down’.
Now Lana the Labrador’s kennel in Canada have tragically been left with no choice but to put her down if she can’t find a new owner by May 20.
Writing onto Facebook, Canadian non-profit Rescue Dogs Match, wrote:
May 14 is Lana’s birthday (she will be 3). Please help find her a foster or forever home. Lana only has until May 20th.
Apparently due to Lana’s instincts she isn’t what most people want from a pet. Instead of wanting cuddles and belly rubs – Lana wants to be out and about working.
Rescue Dogs Match added:
The best environment for her would be a horse or hobby farm where she can be outside most of the time “helping” her person with the chores around the property.
She loves to be outside no matter what the weather. Lana loves to be part of whatever is going on but not in ‘tight’ quarters.
