If you have ever been to a rescue centre then you will know how sad the sight of row upon row of abandoned dogs can be, making this video all the more heartwarming.

The adorable pooch in this story is Benny, and until recently he was a resident at the Carson Animal Care Center , California.

The sad fact is that as a ‘high intake’ shelter it also means the facility is in the unfortunate position of having to put down a large number of animals too. It seems Benny is all too aware of the fate he escaped earlier this month.

As you will see at the opening of the video, Benny is quite timid, immediately retiring to the back of his cage when people approach.

That shy and retiring nature quickly evaporates once he has worked out what is going on.

Benny’s new family have arrived to take him to his new home and the lovable pup literally jumps for joy as he rushes for the exit, overwhelmed at the prospect of a bright future.

Check it out.

This special little guy captured the hearts of everyone who stopped by his kennel. He hit the jackpot when this beautiful family chose to take him home. Thanks for all you SHARING, checkout his FREEDOM WALK filled with lots of jumps and tail wagging! Happy life sweet BENNY <3PHOTO THREAD: https://www.facebook.com/savingcarsonshelterdogs/photos/a.172032662969376.1073741830.171850219654287/511316932374279/?type=3&theaterJukin Media Verified (Original)* For licensing / permission to use: Contact – licensing(at)jukinmediadotcom

A certain cliche involving this time of year and dog ownership probably goes without saying.
