The whole Irwin family are probably just the coolest and nicest family ever to grace this earth.
With Steve’s son Robert taking up the mantle of naturalist extraordinaire, it’s clear the family have lost none of their values or love of life and nature.
But little is actually said of the hole that was left behind in the family, much to their credit.
Everyone knows what its like to lose a loved one, and how difficult it can be to move on.
This wouldn’t have been helped by the rumours not long ago that Terri Irwin was dating Russell Crowe.
Terri denied this rumour, stating in an interview with Access Hollywood:
He’s very lucky to be embroiled in all of these great rumors. We are friends so he contacted me and asked me if there was something he should know!
The 52-year-old has not actually dated anyone since Steve’s death, and the reason why is really heartwarming.
I haven’t dated anyone in the ten years since we lost Steve just because I feel a connection still with Steve. You know when you take those vows, and say ‘we’ll be together as long as we both shall live,’ I really don’t think I would’ve married if I hadn’t met Steve.
And he’s very special to me and continues to be. And I’ve got beautiful kids and a lot of wonderful conservation work, so, I’m lonely for Steve but I’m not a lonely person.
We all need to take a moment to admire how GORGEOUS my Mum is. Strength, determination, kindness, beauty. She inspires me every day to follow my dreams and always believe. I have never met a stronger or more extraordinary woman than you. Thank you for always being there for Robert and me as well as keeping Dad's legacy alive at Australia Zoo and with Wildlife Warriors. You have the strength to move mountains. I love you, Mum. Forever.
Steve and Terri Irwin’s daughter Bindi echoed her mum’s sentiment, saying that her parents had found each other’s ‘soul mate’ and that they would ‘always be married’.
What a wonderful family.
