Contrary to popular belief, cats aren’t easy to look after. They may require less attention than dogs, but it doesn’t mean you can slack off in your duties as an owner.
Think of it like this, if dogs are the animal equivalent of a hyperactive five-year-old, then you could compare cats to angsty teenagers who require affection on their own terms.
If you’re up for a challenge and want to care for a fabulous feline, who has been dubbed as lazy and high maintenance, Bruno the cat may just be your ‘purr-fect’ companion (sorry for the cat pun… I’m terrible, I know).
Bruno is a 25-lb cat who has been put up for adoption recently at the Wright-Way Rescue Adoption Center in Morton Grove, Illinois. According to an ad posted on Facebook, he’s a polydactyl – meaning he has an extra toe. He’s also known for standing on his hind legs, which is a strange habit of his.
The staff at the Wright-Way Rescue Adoption center are puzzled as to ‘how Bruno hasn’t found his forever home yet! He’s the COOLEST cat!’.
You know what, they’re not wrong. Just look at this fella’s pose, it’s straight up gangster. Whichever lucky person ends up adopting Bruno will certainly have a meme-worthy cat living in their household.
Posting on behalf of Bruno, as he hasn’t gained human-like-awareness, Wright-Way explained:
There’s a lot of me to love! I am perfectly healthy other than being overweight. I am on a diet, though. I am walking, playing, and doing tricks like this to lose some weight.
When I am in a normal home, most of my day is spent laying around, but never far from my family. I usually prefer to lay on the floor or right next to you, but occasionally I like to be a lap-cat. I also really like playing with my feather wand toy. Not so much my other toys or scratchers, though. I do like to sleep with my foster parents, but at the end of the bed so you still have room.
The post also goes on to say:
I like when you scratch the sides of my face and neck. I like to be pet on the top of my head and spine only. I know my tummy is so tempting to touch, but I would prefer if you didn’t. I may swat my hand and pretend to bite if you do.
The post also points out while he does enjoy eating, he likes it more if you pet him at the same time – talk about needy eh? His fussiness doesn’t end there though, Bruno drinks a lot of water but he prefers it if it’s not near his food. Therefore you’d have to place multiple bowls of water around the house. Perfect if you live in a big gaff. Told you he was high maintenance.
Overall, Bruno is just a ‘laid back, lazy cat who just wants to be in the presence’ of his owners.
I mean, how can you not want to foster him? Anyone interested in fostering Bruno should get in contact with the Wright-Way Rescue Adoption Center.
