What if you got killed by a serial killer dressed in a mask but instead of it being lights you were merely sent right back to when you woke up that day, giving you the option to do it over like a very fucked up Groundhog Day? That’s the question Happy Death Day begs.

This new offering from Blumhouse Productions – known for Insidious, The Purge, Paranormal Activity and most recently Get Out – concerns a very blatant yet never done premise where someone gets to relive their last day on earth over and over.

Blumhouse has now released the first full-length trailer.

The official synopsis for Happy Death Day is as follows:

Blumhouse (Split, Get Out, Whiplash) produces an original and inventive rewinding thriller in HAPPY DEATH DAY, in which a college student (Jessica Rothe, La La Land) relives the day of her murder with both its unexceptional details and terrifying end until she discovers her killer’s identity.

It’s set for a Friday 13, October 2017 release.
