The president of content and development at Nickelodeon, Russell Hicks, recently mentioned that the 90’s TV show “Rugrats” could be making a return in the form of a miniseries or film.
“We are looking at our library to bring back ideas, shows that were loved, in a fresh new way,” Hicks said. The idea is to push new versions of old programming to grown ups who have now started families and want to enjoy classics with their children.
I am sure there will also be a market for grown ups that haven’t started families yet or outright refuse to grow up. Happy to place myself in that market.
I will also make an attempt to refrain from constantly saying, “Nah, the original was better.” But no guarantee I won’t turn into that wanker.
To get you hyped here’s a legendary 90’s TV intros mashup.
“Hey Arnold!” “You Can’t Do That On Television” and “Victorious” are also under review at Nickelodeon.
