While no stranger to the darkness, Christopher Nolan’s latest project Dunkirk looks like the vaunted director is taking things to a whole new level.
The film will look at the gruelling effects of war on a group of soldiers as they take part in Operation Dynamo, the evacuation of Allied forces from the beaches of Dunkirk, France, during World War II.
Nolan’s been exceptionally tight-lipped about the project, aside from a few production stills and a news story about them crashing a real life warplane.
We do know that it’ll star Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance and for some reason ex-One Direction member Harry Styles, in Nolan we trust with that one.
Nolan’s also working with Interstellar cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytemaspecialist again and using 65 mm and IMAX film cameras so it’s probably safe to say they’ll be breathtaking battle scenes.
Dunkirk opens in UK cinemas from July 21 2017.
