Hilaria Baldwin speaks about 26-year age gap with husband Alec and says ‘sometimes I’m his mommy’

Hilaria is 26 years younger than her husband Alec

Hilaria Baldwin has opened up about her marriage to Alec Baldwin and their 26-year age gap.

Alec, 65, and Hilaria, 39, first met in 2011 then married a year later in 2012.

And the pair have since had seven children together.

However, despite the age difference, Hilaria has joked that it's not her who has 'daddy issues' at all.

She told Romper: “At the beginning of our relationship, everyone was like, ‘She must have daddy issues because she’s married to somebody older. But it’s actually the opposite.”

The mum-of-seven added: “Am I his mommy? Sometimes I’m his mommy. Sometimes.”

The pair recently welcomed daughter Ilaria, who is nine months old.

They also have Carmen, nine, Rafael (Rafa), seven, Leonardo (Leo), six, Romeo, five, Eduardo (Edu), two, and two-year-old Maria Lucia (Marilu).

Somehow, they manage to give every child not one but two baths every day.

There's one when they get up and one when they go to bed.

Hilaria said: “They’ll literally just line up. And we go 1, 2, 3, really fast, hair, shampoo, in and out. I spray them.

“When I was younger, I read ‘Cheaper by the Dozen. And the only thing I remember about the book is that they figured out the most efficient way to use a bar of soap.”

Hilaria has also revealed that she enjoys the process of giving birth and likened it to 'going down a water slide that’s really scary'.

She added: "And then you get to the bottom, and you’re like, ‘I want to do this again'."

The podcaster has also opened up about interest in her family.

She said: “People like to have a lot of opinions about women’s reproductive choices.

“Either we have too many kids, or we have too few. We don’t do it exactly as we should. We don’t put the hat on the baby.

"And then people say, ‘Why doesn’t your baby have a hat?’ And I say, ‘Would you like to come and put the hat on the baby? She’ll take it off and throw it at you’.”

Hilaria also opened up about her breast-feeding routine as well, figuring out the most efficient process after 10-years of experience.

She said: “Right after I have a baby, I pump all the time, but only for three minutes, just to stimulate production.

"At this point, I freeze about 30 to 50 ounces a day on top of feeding her.”
