One of the hosts of this year’s Oscars, Amy Schumer, has weighed in on Will Smith’s outburst.
Smith stormed the stage and struck presenter Chris Rock after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head - a hairstyle she is sporting as a result of alopecia.
Schumer has since taken to Instagram to reveal she is ‘triggered and traumatised’ by the whole ordeal.
In a lengthy caption, she wrote: “I love my friend [Chris Rock] and believe he handled it like a pro. Stayed up there and gave an Oscar to his friend [Questlove] and the whole thing was so disturbing.

“So much pain in [Will Smith], anyway I’m still in shock and stunned and sad.
“I’m proud of myself and my co-hosts. But yeah. Waiting for this sickening feeling to go away from what we all witnessed.”
On Monday, Smith posted a heartfelt apology to Rock on Instagram, stating: “My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable.

“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be.
“I am a work in progress,” he finished off.
Rock is yet to publicly weigh in on the incident, but is not pressing charges.
However, ticket sales for his upcoming tour have rocketed after Sunday’s events, with one marketplace claiming they have sold more tickets in the night following the Oscars than they did the whole month prior.

The price of the cheapest seats has reportedly risen by about 800%.
Jim Carrey also used a recent interview opportunity to weigh in on the situation, claiming that he would have had Smith arrested and sued for $200 million.
Carrey said Smith’s standing ovation after winning Best Actor ‘sickened’ him, as he stated: “Hollywood is just spineless en masse and it really felt like this is a really clear indication that we aren’t the cool club anymore.”
The A-list actor is not the only celeb to come forward with their opinions on the whole ordeal.

Isla Fisher chose to post a photograph of her husband, Sacha Baron Cohen, alongside Rock, with a love heart.
Even OJ Simpson weighed in, stating that he thought Smith was ‘wrong’ but that he could ‘understand the sentiment’.
