Britney Spears Goes Into Detail About Ex Justin Timberlake's Apology

Britney Spears is writing a book in which she'll discuss Justin Timberlake, her conservatorship, and everything else

Britney Spears has referenced an apology that she received from Justin Timberlake in a candid post about her new book.

Yes, after being released from her conservatorship, Britney is set to release a book in which she will – hopefully – tell her side of the story.

It should be an interesting read, to say the least.

In a now-deleted Instagram post the singer opened up about how writing the memoir has been a bittersweet experience for her, raking over old coals but also allowing her to have some closure.

Britney wrote: "I'm writing a book at the moment and as it’s actually healing and therapeutic … it's also hard bringing up past events in my life I've never been able to express openly,

"I can only imagine that I do sound childish but I was extremely young when the events took place."

Then, she turned to an apology that she got from Justin Timberlake – who she used to date, remember? – in 2021.

Justin apologised last February for his ‘missteps’ over the years, stating that he had been – on occasion – part of ‘the problem’.

Timberlake also said he’d come up ‘short in these moments and in many others and benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism’.

You can check out his full apology in the post below.

Britney continued: "But instead of using my heart, I'm using the intellectual approach as Justin [Timberlake] did when he apologized [sic] to Janet [Jackson] and me.

“Although he was never bullied or threatened by his family, he took the opportunity to apologize 20 years later!!! Timing is EVERYTHING!!!"

Still, it seems as if Britney forgives him.

After he posted, she shared a video of herself dancing to one of his tunes, seeming to show that things are OK.

As for her sister and mother, who have both written their own books, Britney seems less forgiving.

She said: "My mom and my sister also did the 'intellectual approach' in indulgence by writing their own books as I couldn't even get a cup of coffee or drive my car or really anything,

"I'm not the type to bring up UNCOMFORTABLE CONVERSATIONS because it's just NOT RESPECTFUL … but come on, LET'S ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT IT!!!"

Britney went on to outline some particular moments she felt hard done by during her conservatorship, including not being allowed to meet friends when they visited during her Las Vegas residency.

She added: "I never felt heard ever!!! I was screaming inside and no matter what I said it was always looked down upon.”

Concluding, she said: "So sorry if I've offended anyone by writing these stories, but just as my sister can legally mention my name in her book over 200 times, cry on TV and get a heartfelt 'awww' from most … I also have the right to share a couple of paragraphs on my Instagram.”

Like we’ve said – the book will certainly be an interesting read if it ever manages to get released.
