Caitlin Clark blocks ex-NFL star Antonio Brown after he posts series of crude comments

Despite not even playing her first WNBA game yet, Caitlin Clark may have just registered her first block as a member of the Indiana Fever basketball team.

After being drafted as the number one pick in the WNBA you might think life would be on the up and up.

Basketball phenom Caitlin Clark has been on an upward trajectory of late, bringing significant attention to her college basketball team Iowa Hawkeyes, despite their recent loss to the undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks.

Culminating with her being drafted in the WNBA to play with Indiana Fever on April 15, happy ending all around, right?

Well no, the 6ft point guard has had to deal with lots of criticism on social media despite her immense success.

Clark has recently had to block former NFL star Antonio Brown after he made a series of inappropriate comments about her on X (formerly Twitter).

Sharing a screenshot of the block, he wrote: "Cracker of the Day #CTESPN.

Blocked by Cousin It."

In a separate post Brown also called for ‘less cancelling and more comedy, let people be who they are its 2024’.

Despite Brown insisting it was all a joke, Clark's fans found his jabs less amusing and called him out for his remarks.

Commenting on his screenshot of his blocked message, one user wrote: “You deserved it for being weird bro.”

"I honestly think you deserved it," another added.

While a third said: "You had it coming."

Someone else penned: "She's smart and you deserve it."

And another questioned: "What did you expect?"

This isn't the only strange behavior Clark has had to deal with as of late.

During a press conference on Wednesday (April 17) Indy Star columnist Gregg Doyel had a rather uncomfortable interaction with the basketball star.

Before asking his question, the journalist made a heart sign with his hands at Clark.

She asked Doyel whether he liked that to which he replied: "I like that you’re here."

Clark said she makes the sign to her family 'after every game'.

Then Doyle responded: "Start doing it to me, and we’ll get along."

The Indy Star columnist has since apologized for his comment, writing on X: "Today in my uniquely oafish way, while welcoming @CaitlinClark22 to Indy, I formed my hands into her signature (hand heart emoji).

"My comment afterward was clumsy and awkward. I sincerely apologize. Please know my heart (literally and figuratively) was well-intentioned. I will do better."
