Chris Evans roasted by Avengers co-stars for his Sexiest Man Alive cover

The group chat found the whole thing hilarious

Chris Evans’ Avengers co-star completely roasted him after he was named the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ this month.

In case you missed it, Evans was named as PEOPLE magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive last week, following in the footsteps of other Hollywood heartthrobs including Idris Elba, Paul Rudd, Michael B. Jordan and Channing Tatum.

And like all good friends, the first thing Evans’ co-stars did when they found out he’d been awarded the title was take the p*ss.

During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! fellow Avenger Chris Hemsworth revealed that the group chat for the cast had found the whole thing absolutely hilarious and quickly took aim at his cover shot.

He said: “It very quickly was like, ‘What are you doing with your hands back there?'

“Downey said he’s being arrested. I said it was a beautiful mugshot. Then Jeremy Renner said a series of things which we won’t repeat.” The mind boggles.

But giving credit where it was due - Evan's genes - Hemsworth added: “He’s indeed a sexy man. So well done, you know? Thank your parents!” Indeed.

Although Hemsworth may have joined in with the ribbing, he actually scooped the title himself back in 2014 - and his cover shot had him, somewhat bizarrely, grabbing onto his own neck. What would the group chat make of that, my friend?

Upon being named Sexiest Man Alive 2022, Evans told the publication: “My mom will be so happy. She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.

"This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about. It feels like a weird form of humble bragging."

The star then, very humbly, added that he felt ‘lucky’ to be in a discussion about being sexy.

However, it seems he was already aware that his pals would find it amusing and use the title as ammo to give him a bit of a ribbing, as he also told the magazine: "Really this will just be a point of bullying. It's ripe for harassment."

His mom Lisa said the whole family will be 'beside themselves' and she's touched her son has been given the recognition she thinks he deserves.

His incredibly proud mom said: "I am not surprised at all. Our family will be beside themselves."

Ah, isn’t that sweet? I imagine she’ll give those Marvel stars a piece of her mind when she finds out about the group chat.
