Dana White Explains Why He Thinks Floyd Mayweather Hasn't Paid Logan Paul For Their Fight Yet

Paul has slammed Mayweather for failing to pay for the fight which took place in 2021.

UFC president Dana White has explained why he thinks Floyd Mayweather may not yet have paid Logan Paul for their exhibition bout last year.

Mayweather and Paul went head-to-head in the highly anticipated fight last June, with the event reportedly attracting more than one million pay-per-view sales.

Both fighters were expected to receive big cheques following the fight, which had no official winner, however Paul has since made multiple claims that Mayweather has failed to cough up his cash.

Hear White's thoughts on the matter below:

In a post shared on Twitter last month, Paul described Mayweather as a 'dirty little rat' who hadn't yet paid him. He continued: 'But no worries Floyd Mayweather, KSI and I are going to make the money back you stole from me and more. January 4.'

During an appearance on the Full Send Podcast, White expressed belief that foregoing boxing protocols may be the reason Paul has not yet received payment, saying: 'Here’s what happens when you go in and do these fights. You do these fights that are exhibitions or whatever, the commission isn’t overseeing it.'

While athletic commissions have set rules from state to state regarding the pay fighters will receive, exhibition matches, such as that put on by Paul and Mayweather, gives the power to those who promote the fight.

He continued: 'Let’s say I did a fight with Mike [Tyson], I’ve got Mike fighting Francis [Ngannou, UFC heavyweight champion] or something, the athletic commission gets the money upfront, so they pay the fighters, they don’t have to wait. That was the big problem in the past, is that these boxing promoters would come in and they wouldn’t make as much money as they thought they were going to do.

'So they would stiff the fighters and not pay the guys and that’s why these regulations are in place in these different states', White went on, adding: 'And that’s why... I don’t want to sh*t on any of the other states, but you want to fight in like Nevada or California, the guys that have a strong athletic commission.'

Paul survived all eight rounds against Mayweather after having previously lost his only professional fight to social media rival KSI. This week, the former YouTuber implied a return to the ring as he accepted a challenge from Brazilian internet star Whindersson.

At the time of writing, February 2, Mayweather hasn’t publicly responded to the allegations regarding Paul's payment for their exhibition.
