Dave Grohl feeds 450 homeless people after cooking for 16 hours

The Foo Fighters star has cooked food for nearly half a thousand people in need

Living rockstar legend, Dave Grohl, has spent a full 16 hours preparing and cooking enough food for 450 people in need.

The Foo Fighters frontman took to the streets of Los Angeles to provide a barbecue feast for nearly half a thousand homeless people.

Grohl partnered up with The Hope Mission as a means of giving back to the community. Check it out:

Rowan Vansleve is the CFO behind Hope of the Valley - a nonprofit organization geared around providing services for individuals lacking the means to provide food, shelter and clothing for themselves and their families.

Vansleve recently took to Instagram to share the incredible news that none other than the current lead musician of Foo Fighters and former drummer of the iconic 90s trio, Nirvana, had got involved with their wellbeing project last Wednesday (22 February).

Uploading a video of Grohl in action, he captioned the post: "And in the middle of our 350 mile run to end homelessness, we got the coolest video ever from Dave Grohl, of the Foo Fighters."

The CFO said he had 'nothing but love and respect' for Grohl.

The post continued: "Not only did he wish us luck, but he cooked for hundreds of people who live in our shelters in the middle of one of the worst storms."

Vansleve, a self-declared 'homeless/justice advocate and taco aficionado', concluded the post saying that he had 'nothing but love and respect' for Grohl following his heroic acts of service to the community.

The clip, with the track 'My Hero' playing the background, shows Grohl saying: "What's up you guys?"

"We finished 15 miles today - congratulations! Tomorrow's another beautiful day, keep it up!" he continues, in typical positive Grohl fashion.

He then revealed: "We're out here all night cooking and [...] we're all in man. Keep going!"

According to TMZ, Grohl funded the entire nonprofit initiative himself.

Photos from the day shows the dedicated team, Grohl included, whipping up a mean barbecue spread complete with ribs, pork butt, brisket, cabbage, coleslaw, and beans for the homeless.

According to TMZ, Grohl funded the entire nonprofit initiative himself and 'got some sleep here and there in the parking lot while the meat was getting smoked'.

Clearly as much of a rockstar offstage as he is on, the feast helped to feed nearly 500 people sleeping rough on the streets of Los Angeles.

The charitable efforts have definitely not gone unnoticed either.

Fans of the rockstar were eager to flood Grohl with their praise for his remarkable philanthropy.

One Instagram user wrote: "Nicest guy in rock and roll and just an all around treasure. The world is a better and much cooler place because of David Eric Grohl."

"Reason 344 of why Dave Grohl is an amazing human being," a second praised.

A final fan added: "Now I’m an even bigger fan of Dave Grohl. Supporting Ken and his team’s work is just flat out fantastic!"

There goes a hero indeed.
